Data Services Manager
Cazador, a wholly owned subsidiary of Akima, LLC,is the federal government’s “general contractor for interiors,” a one-stop-shop for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment as well as initial outfitting and relocation project management.
Cazador is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Data Services Manager to be responsible for the development, oversight and use of our current and future data systems. As the manager you will be expected to discover and implement efficient ways to organize, store and analyze data with attention to security and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various forms of databases and data analysis procedures. They will also be tech-savvy and possess excellent troubleshooting skills. The goal is to ensure that information flows timely and securely to and from the organization as well as within. The incumbent collaborates with other senior leaders and upper management to contribute to the development of functional strategies and makes decisions based on operational strategies and priorities to achieve desired end results. The Data Services Manager will have experience with RFP’s, RFQ’s, and involvement in other aspects of the bid & proposal processes. The Data Services Manager must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Create and enforce policies for effective data management.
Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data.
Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical aspects.
Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders etc.
Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards.
Manage all data reports and extraction.
Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.).
Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses.
Troubleshoot data-related problems, perform maintenance or modifications to databases as required.
Identify and evaluate internal and cross-departmental process improvement opportunities.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field.
5 yearsof related job experience.
Proficient programing in MySQL.
Proficient with other modern databases and information system technologies.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word).
Proficient in development, manipulation and maintenance of SharePoint sites.
Proven experience as data manager.
An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.).
Must pass standard background check.
Proficiency inCostPoint, Cognos reporting knowledgepreferred.
Familiarity with Adobe products, i.e. PDF’s, Bluebeam, etc., preferred.
Knowledge of Joint Schedule Numbers (JSN’s) and the MIL-STD 1691 Master Equipment List a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Candidate shall be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision from home office. Critical and fast track schedules and deadlines are typical. Candidate must understand that at times, because of project deadlines, overtime is frequent and position is exempt.Travel may be required, sometimes at short notice, although durations are not typically extensive. Candidate must be capable of multi-tasking and meeting deadlines with frequent interruptions.Position requires friendly and personable communication skills for interaction with and support of other members of the design team. No special physical demands required.
