The Field Engineer will:
Work in the shipboard communications area providing technical and engineering support to SPAWAR Systems Center on all matters pertaining to the Primary Flight Control Console (PRIFLY Console) project.
Assist planning yards and Alteration Installation Teams with planning for and accomplishment of PRIFLY Console installations and upgrades.
Develop troubleshooting aids to assist ships force with maintenance during underway periods.
Provide technical assistance to ships force personnel on all aspects of the PRIFLY Console and its interfaces with other ships systems.
Provide C5RA/TSRA/INSURV support on the PRIFLY Console to NSSA and SWRMC.
Minimum of a high school diploma.
Minimum three years’ experience as an electronic engineer/technician or equivalent military job rating.
Prior experience with shipboard installations processes and controls.
Must have fundamental computer skills (Windows, MS Office).
A SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain is a requirement of this position.
Ability to communicate with naval personnel effectively and provide system training.
Ability to write test plans, SOVT’s and white papers effectively.
Ability to read schematics, install, repair, and maintain electronic systems .
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning electronic equipment and systems, and determine resolution.
Ability to use tools and precision equipment.
Skill in using diagnostic and testing equipment.
Ability to interpret technical manuals, illustration, specification, diagrams, and schematics.
