The Network Operations Center (NOC) Monitoring group serves as the central focal point for event management, coordination of fault isolation efforts, controlling and de‐conflicting Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) and distribution of information system status messages for all DEA unclassified information systems. The NOC monitors performance and availability in addition to hardware/software alerts from various Operations Monitoring Tools to minimize the impact and duration of communications and system degradation for DEA networks. The contractor shall ensure that the environment is proactively monitored and incident and problem tickets are created for issues that are discovered through the event monitoring process.


  • Interpret alerts generated by monitoring systems

  • Monitor the network stability and performance in order to maintain continual operations

  • Coordinate communication between the various groups

  • Proactive incident and problem ticket creation based on event log and performance measures

  • Monitor Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS) health and performance

  • Monitor Active Directory health and replication

  • Monitor server health, event logs and performance counters

  • Perform continuous monitoring of various critical applications using DEA‐provided tools

  • Maintain a Forward Schedule of Change (FSC)

  • Update and maintain System Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation as needed

  • Open and track service tickets with WAN providers

  • Maintain the daily status report

  • Conduct the daily morning status meeting at 0830 EST/EDT

  • Establish a monthly duty roster to ensure coverage during the designated hours


Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

  • 3 years of network management experience and General IT experience

  • WAN troubleshooting/problem determination skills (ISDN, ATM, SONET, etc.)

  • Experience with various types of infrastructure equipment (Cisco, Juniper, Forerunner)

  • On the job experience with hardware and software configuration management

  • 2 years of customer service experience

Desired Skills:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional (CCNA/CCNP) desired

  • Microsoft Technology Associate certification desired

  • Knowledge of network analysis tools (Cisco Prime, Identity Services Engine, Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager, etc.)

  • Active Secret clearance is highly desirable

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related field is desired.
