Tier 3 Support Engineer

Qivliq Federal Group , a wholly owned subsidiary of Akima, LLC, provides business management, policy support, and technology engineering services to federal civilian and Department of Defense clients. The individual will migrate servers in support of a technical refresh effort. Our client is replacing aging data center equipment at many locations. Once new equipment is in place, our team will remotely migrate virtual servers from the old VMWare environment to the new environment. Following the server migrations, our team will operate and maintain the servers until handoff to an operations team. The individual may also be asked to troubleshoot unexpected problems or errors. He/She will also assist in developing procedures, checklists, and lessons learned for the server migrations. The individual may be required to patch security vulnerabilities, upgrade the firmware/BIOS of the new equipment, or perform any/all server administration tasks to complete server migrations.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 5 years of IT experience, specifically in network and systems design and integration into an enterprise environment. A BA/BS degree may substitute for 4 years of experience.

  • An active SECRET clearance

  • Certificates: DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification and associated CE certificate

  • Knowledge of IA controls

  • Strong troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior DoD or USAF working environment experience a plus

  • Microsoft Certification such as MCSA, SCCM, Exchange

  • Experience/certification in one or more of the following services: Active Directory, Exchange, VMWare, SCCM, SCOM, TMG, Good Mobile
