Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and maintaining the technical documentation and management policies for a new Cyber Security office focused on the Accreditation and Certification of devices on a government enterprise network. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Researching, understanding, incorporating and complying with federal regulations and DOD and US Army policies, directives and regulations.

Working with Cyber Security Engineers and Analysts to:

  • Develop Information System Description

  • Prepare Information System Registration

  • Prepare and Submit Security Plans for Approval

  • Develop Security Control Implementation Plans

  • Prepare Security Control Documentation

  • Develop Assessment Plans and Prepare Assessments

  • Prepare Security Assessment Reports

  • Coordinate collection/development of key system compliance artifacts (boundary diagrams, inventories, compliance scans, etc.)

  • Prepare Security Authorization Package

  • Document Key Updates

  • Perform Security Status Reporting

  • Serve as the Knowledge Management lead for the Cyber Security Team.

  • Studying drawings, specifications, mockups and product samples.

  • Ensuring technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson.

  • Writing clear and concise policies and procedures.

  • Submitting copies to managers for feedback.

  • Adjusting copy as necessary and proofread for grammar and spelling

  • Follow a document life cycle development process.

  • Releasing the document following final approval.

  • Providing updates and different editions as necessary.

Qualifications

Required

  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years’ Technical Writing experience and demonstrable expertise in designing and developing documents using Microsoft Products to include: Office, Visio, and SharePoint.

  • Excellent writing, editing, drafting and journaling skills, to include the ability to design and create documents and artifacts from notional ideas.

  • Must have a minimum of two years’ experience working in a program or project that required certification and accreditation of new or existing devices or applications on a DoD network. Conceptual and practical understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) preferred.

  • Education: Must have a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Active Secret Clearance required.

Desirable

  • Six or more years of experience writing for Information Technology security efforts

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts degree in English or a related subject area
