Responsibilities Include:

Project Management (90%):

  • Write and maintain project specific documents related to the assigned IM/IT project. Documentation shall include but is not limited to business plans, project plans, sub project plans, charters, work breakdown structures, budget and official messages related to all projects.

  • Coordinate meetings and information sharing between local and national partners involved in the project. This coordination shall involve setting up conferences, phone meetings and video teleconferences for the personnel involved in the project.

  • Providing briefings and updates to members of the team and oversight groups, relating to pertinent updates status of progress and scheduled delivery as well as challenges to specific project tasks.

  • Maintain project libraries, providing versioning and historical background on project related documents.

  • Utilize Microsoft Project, Visio, and other Microsoft Office applications to prepare and maintain documents related to the project(s).

  • Coordinate deployment and implementation as well as training related to the products and services developed during the course of the project(s).

Technical Services (10%):

  • Serve as a project team leader, make team assignments, coordinate work of the team, review completed work of the team members.

  • Determine appropriate products or services with clients or customers to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.

  • Develop, modify or provide input to project plans, implements project plans to meet or exceed objectives.

  • Coordinate and integrate project activities.

  • Manage, lead, or administer project resources. Develops or implements information systems security plans and procedures. Monitors project activities and resources to mitigate risk.

  • Implement or maintain quality control processes.

  • Make improvements, solve problems, or take corrective action when problems arise.

  • Give presentations or briefings on all aspects of the project.

  • Participate in phase, milestone, and final project reviews.

  • Identify project documentation requirements or procedures.

  • Develop and implement project release plans.

  • Identify customers’ information systems requirements; analyze information systems requirements or environment; design or conduct analytical studies, cost-benefits analysis, or other research.

  • Evaluate, monitor and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures.

  • Coordinate purchases/contracts for information technology services, equipment, products, supplies, property, or other items.

  • Participate in change control (for example reviewing configuration change requests).

  • Ensure appropriate product-related training and documentation are developed and made available to customers.

  • Develop business case analysis for assigned information technology projects, programs, or tasking.

  • Assess the state-of-the-art in the technology industry and make judgments regarding the impact on the operating environment.

  • Identify problems; determine accuracy and relevance of information; use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

  • Assist with estimates of initial budget and tracks variation from baselines.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the IM/IT Project Management field and have a thorough understanding of commercial off the shelf (COTS) products and components.

  • Possess a thorough understanding of IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices.

  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.

  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
