The Material Maintenance Supervisor oversees the overall maintenance functions in accordance with company directives and contractual requirements. Is responsible for maintenance contract data and information requirements.

  • Serves as Supervisor of the Material Maintenance Division (MMD). Oversees and manages above brigade level, field and limited sustainment level maintenance support to US Army tactical units and Government civilian activities in the most cost effective, and efficient manner. The MMD provides support for other Army programs, not limited to the following: RESET, Pre-Deployment Training Equipment (PDTE), Contract Maintenance Team (CMT), and Unit Maintained Equipment (UME). The MMD also provides support as required in accordance with AR 5-9 Area Support Responsibilities.

  • Ensure that all maintenance shops and supporting functions are operated in accordance with AR 750-1, Army Materiel Maintenance Policy, and conducted in accordance with The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS).

  • Provide the majority of maintenance work using the organic LRC facilities as designated by the IMMO; however, the Maintenance Supervisor must also provide field and sustainment support throughout the installation and surrounding areas.

  • Prepare, submit, and maintain all records, reports, and submittals required by applicable Army Regulations, Department of Army Pamphlets, TBs and Technical Orders.

  • Provide verbal and/or written (electronic) readiness status on reportable equipment, upon request, to supported units.

  • Attend scheduled and unscheduled materiel maintenance planning and status meetings required by the IMMO.

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that outline the standard procedures for the company to follow when providing maintenance support to the Government.

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with tests, inspections, repairs, services, maintenance, transportation, and processing/de-processing commercial or tactical equipment.

  • Provide Range Support Truck(s) with Field Level maintenance repairmen.

  • Demilitarize or dispose of all unserviceable weapons parts IAW governing codes and regulations.

  • Oversee repair of work-ordered lawn care, landscaping, and related small engine equipment.

  • Utilize a LIS system to manage maintenance services, repairs, dispatch, and reporting for IMCOM activities. Ensure that all Fire and Emergency, DPW, and LRC equipment /vehicles are maintained in the LIS for dispatching and services. Provide Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) support based on equipment density and historical workload.

  • Perform tactical pass-back maintenance, where a supported element requests MMD support. Provide maintenance support for non-tactical organizations by performing maintenance of tactical and non-tactical (commercial) equipment found on the supported element’s installation property book. Provide on-site Field Level maintenance services on equipment when it is determined by IMMO that on-site repair is more economical than movement of the equipment to the shop for repair.

  • Prepare and submit Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR), SF Form 368, in accordance with DA PAM 750-8 and AR 702.7. Prepare and submit Equipment Improvement Recommendations (EIRs) in accordance with DA PAM 750-8.

  • Provide maintenance recovery assistance (i.e., transportation with wrecker or trailer) to units for the purpose of evacuating vehicles to a maintenance operation compound for repair. Perform Allied Trades tasks required for the repair or modification of tactical or commercial equipment. Tasks include but are not limited to welding, machining, equipment painting, and body repair. All repairs must be in accordance with AR 750-1; applicable TM; generally acceptable commercial methods and industry best practices.

  • Perform initial, random, and final inspections on equipment submitted for repair or services and shall determine that all repairs do not exceed maintenance expenditure limits (MEL) established by applicable equipment technical bulletins or by a local policy prior to work being initiated.

  • Perform Shop Supply services in order to attain materiel required to support the MMD mission. Use the automated Army Logistics Information Systems (LIS) as the primary means of attaining materiel. establish, manage, and operate a Production, Planning, and Control (PPC) system for all levels of maintenance. Utilize the LIS to plan, schedule, control, and process all maintenance requests for repair or service.

  • Performs duties and responsibilities that are common to most supervisory personnel.

  • Provides direction to the maintenance personnel for planning, organizing, and scheduling maintenance actions.

  • Administers requirement analysis for staffing, budgeting, cost control, and customer liaison.

  • Furnishes guidance and direction and coordinates with appropriate Army elements.

  • Coordinates with and provides input to the PM to resolve problems relating to maintenance support for units/activities and to plan requirements necessary to support added mission requirements.

  • Reviews work procedures and processes to ensure contract compliance.

  • Develops overall work plans and procedures to meet contractual objectives.

  • Develops, maintains and evaluates maintenance management performance indicators.

  • Performs statistical and trend analysis to determine production and cost efficiency.

  • Exercises technical proficiency and provides guidance in the operation of the current Maintenance Management System.

  • Enforces adherence to all company safety processes, procedures and use of PPE.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in technical related field. Four years' hands on experience performing maintenance on tactical and non-tactical equipment can substitute for degree.

  • Five years of management / supervisory experience, with anadditional three years of direct maintenance management experience required.

  • Experience managing and supervising a union workforce highly preferred.

  • Must have a proven management record and demonstrate proficient use of personal computer software and information technology / electronic communication services.

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Army material management information systems required.

  • Must possess or be able to receive a security clearance for access to material up to and including SECRET.
