Job Summary Sources, plans, and executes recruiting aligned with workforce needs. Screens and interviews applicants meeting minimum job requirements. Evaluates candidates and refers employee-of-choice candidates to the hiring manager. Executes Sandia National Laboratories hiring process according to policy and process

Job Specifications

  • Works closely with the staffing partners, recruiters and hiring managers to understand hiring needs for specific job postings across a broad spectrum of disciplines.

  • Identifies, sources and fills hard to fill jobs. Uses available technology and online resources, such as LinkedIn, IEEE, DICE, ASME, Monster and general internet Boolean search methodologies.

  • Screens resumes of applicants meeting minimum job requirements and ascertains the competence of candidates.

  • Conducts phone screens to assess candidate qualifications for specific job openings.

  • Evaluates factors such as job experience, education, training, skills, knowledge, abilities, and other data pertinent to classification, selection, and referral.

  • Presents qualified candidates to hiring managers to consider for interviews.

  • Checks references, provides applicants with information about Sandia, and works with outside agencies and vendors.

  • Ensures search efforts reach a diverse spectrum of candidates, with results that reflect labor market availability for ethnicity and gender within EEO job categories.

Knowledge, Skills, Ability

  • Awareness and knowledge of relevant federal and state Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) laws, regulations, and executive orders.

  • Knowledge of human resources theories, principles, and practices and understanding of staffing and recruiting.

  • Knowledge of current industry best practices for recruiting and sourcing a diverse workforce.

  • Ability to coordinate hiring efforts within a business unit.

  • Ability to develop and lead teams and successfully execute assigned projects within scheduled scope and costs.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interface effectively and professionally with internal and external customer groups.

  • Ability to apply specialized knowledge to assignments.

  • Strong analytical skills and proven competence in resolving staffing issues.

Ability to work effectively on a high volume of positions while managing multiple priorities.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Requires bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of experience; or master’s degree in relevant discipline plus two or more years of experience.

  • Five plus years extensive recruiting/sourcing experience.

  • Extensive use of applicant tracking systems and technology for doing database searches, such as PeopleSoft, Taleo, Kenexa or similar systems.

Extensive knowledge of internet sourcing tools and methods, including highly-developed proficiency with Boolean search techniques, internet mining, technical/discipline-specific resume databases, and ATS database search techniques. Experience must include demonstrated success with hands-on use of these technologies and methods.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired)

  • Experience sourcing and recruiting for organization with significant employee base of technical or scientific research personnel.

  • AIRS Certification (any).
