Talu is a participant in the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program and is wholly owned by an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC). Due to Talu’s status as a SBA certified 8(a) Alaska Native Corporation (ANC), Federal customers can sole-source contracts of any dollar value to Talu – streamlining the acquisition process to facilitate complex, time-sensitive moves and renovations. As one of several small companies operating in different federal markets, Talu receives support from its parent company, Akima, LLC, for common administrative services. This structure allows Talu to operate as a small business especially in terms of autonomy, customer interaction, and decision making, while receiving support from an organization with more than 40 years of experience. Talu can leverage Akima’s people, tools, financial stability, and processes to ensure every project exceeds expectations.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Project Manager oversees and manages the technical and operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project teams and executive management. Reviews status of project and budget; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet safety, productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress, solving issues in the field and problem solving with team members and clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist executive management with contractual matters

  • Manage all customer change order processing and communication

  • Attend all meetings as required. Interface with the customer on technical issues, scheduling, and cost and respond to all customer technical and operational questions with appropriate assistance from functional organizations.

  • Control program risk through early collaborative identification and quantification of risks and through development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies

  • Approve and monitor subcontracts and manage all matters concerning ongoing subcontract field operations

  • Maintain regular liaison with all program contributors to ensure the necessary level of communication is in place to assure realization of their commitments

  • Ensure that all contract deliverables and services are properly delivered to the customer for acceptance within the contractual schedule and budget

  • Actively manage the program financial reserves and program scope in a manner appropriate and commensurate with healthcare practices, policies and procedures

  • Ensure all program budgets and business financial commitments are satisfied

  • Other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years related experience and 5 years in a leadership role

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Strong experience with government contractor providing services & products

  • Strong leadership, coordination, organization, and communication abilities

  • Ability to work effectively across functional departments and multi-task

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Proficient in MS Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, Project, Share Point and Excel

  • Experience establishing and maintaining good working relationships in all levels of the organization, including customers, prime contractor organizations, subcontractors, and internal management
