Job Description:

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is a multi-mission agency in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with responsibilities in areas of Maritime Safety, Maritime Security and Maritime Stewardship.

It is a key player in implementing the President’s National Strategy for Homeland Security. The National Security Cutter (NSC), or WMSL, is the flagship of the fleet, capable of meeting all maritime security mission needs. It is the largest and most technically advanced class of cutter in the Coast Guard, with robust capabilities for maritime homeland security, law enforcement and national defense missions.

The Sentinel-class fast response cutter (FRC) is a new Coast Guard patrol boat that is capable of deploying independently to conduct missions that include port, waterways and coastal security; fishery patrols; search and rescue; and national defense. The Systems Analyst/Field Engineer shall provide Systems Support to the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, and Communications Engineering Center (C3CEN) for ancillary radio frequency communication systems and components onboard the NSC and FRC class cutters.


  • Performs analysis for a variety of systems

  • Troubleshoots systems issues

  • Maintain the ACRM/Symphony and MARCOM databases as required.

  • Provide technical support as needed for repairs, alternations, engineering changes, testing and evaluations.

  • Provide training on ancillary communication systems as needed.

  • Comply with Coast Guard, TIA/EIA industry standards and practices.

  • Work with other vendors, Coast Guard and Government Entities.

  • Assist USCG Project Manager as the technical expert and fulfill the role of Team Leader on selected projects.

  • Travel to CG locations worldwide to support the PM on-site surveys, progress meetings, engineering efforts, installation oversight and final testing.



  • Three (3) years’ experience with WMSL ancillary communication systems which are also used on the FRC class cutters.

  • Experience and possess proficiency with the following systems:

  • L3 Automated Communications Manager

  • L3 Symphony Automated Communications Manager

  • L3 Integrated Voice Communications System (IVCS)

  • Radio Frequency Distribution (RDF) System

  • Digital Video Log (DVL) recorder

  • General office environment

  • No special physical demands required.

  • Some lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds required
