Cazador is the federal government’s “general contractor for interiors,” a one-stop-shop for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment as well as initial outfitting and relocation project

management.

Cazador is seeking a senior level professional with strong team management and project controls background. This person will work closely with senior leadership to track and manage critical business functions across all ongoing projects and programs.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Director, Business Operations for Cazador, LLC. Primary responsibilities include managing all day-to-day business and financial operations, ensuring that the company operates efficiently and effectively, while maintaining operational and regulatory compliance in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and the Federal Acquisition Regulations. Supervise and mentor administrative and project management staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Operation responsibilities:

  • Develop, improve, implement, and oversee corporate operational systems, processes, and policies in accordance with corporate and government rules and regulations.

  • Assist, lead, and develop annual Budgets and monthly forecasts as well as monitor monthly variances

  • Support business development team with bids, proposals, and pricing

  • Organize, plan, and oversee annual manpower and Audit reporting and requests.

  • Ensure that Akima Shared services and Cazador field manager requests are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external parties including Customers, Subcontractors, and vendors

  • Oversee monthly project revenue analysis reporting and present findings at monthly Accounting review with Corporate Controller and other executive Akima management

  • Manage 1099/Consultant setups and subcontract execution

  • Oversee project closeout activities with Akima Contract closeout department, Project Managers, and Project Control team

  • Help mentor and train staff and facilitate cross-training of departments

  • Train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance and improve efficiencies

  • Oversee, mentor, lead, and manage all financial reporting including but not limited to unbilled analysis, project labor analysis, DSO reporting and research, EAC development and processing, QRAM and risk evaluations and mentoring, project setups, revenue recognition and applications, and ad hoc requests.

  • Assist and mentor Project Managers to analyze and forecast project margins, discuss project status identify potential risk factors to help ensure project profitability

  • Oversee and assist with Cazador employee semi-monthly timecards to ensure proper allocations

  • Oversee, evaluate, and process all IWOs (intercompany work order)

  • Liaison between Cazador and Contracts, Procurement, Accounting, Finance and Tax departments

Project Control Team responsibilities :

  • Supervise, mentor, and train Project Control and FFE project management team

  • Hiring, annual performance reviews, and HR documentation for direct staff

  • Perform and evaluate staff Quarterly goals and assist in ways to achieve their goals

Project Manager functions:

  • Review and approve project monthly revenue adjustments for PM

  • Review and approve project monthly cost accruals for PM

  • Assistance and review of all new award setups and review new award documents and terms

  • Evaluate, prepare, and approve all WBS and new project setups

  • Advise PMs on their contractual requirements, Akima policy, Cazador policy, and GAAP rules

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business related field, Masters Degree or equivalent experience.

  • 10 years experience providing project cost control and scheduling support (construction contracts experience a plus)

  • 15 years managerial experience supporting a team

  • Strong experience with government contractor providing services & products

  • Experience with Time and Materials (T&M) and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contracts Ability to work independently, self-motivated, proactive and assertive

  • Track record of delivering well-organized and accurate work

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working and thinking creatively in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and demanding deadlines

  • Ability to work effectively across functional departments and multi-task

  • Proven ability to work well with Project Management, Accounting, Contracts, and other project personnel to accomplish tasks

EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint)

  • Specific equipment and applications experience required: Proficiency with Costpoint project setup, Cognos Query Studio, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project (or related scheduling tool).

  • CostPoint – knowledge of all modules including Accounting, projects, people, and material

  • Cognos reporting knowledge

  • Deltek T&E knowledge

  • Intermediate level MS Excel

  • Sharepoint knowledge
