JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform daily operations, preventive and on-site maintenance of the non-secure and secure telephone systems to include inside cable plant, distribution frame, communications closets, and telephone networks and instruments. Support plain old telephone service (POTS), voice over IP (VoIP) and voice over secure IP (VoSIP). Plan and execute migration from analog and digital phone systems to VoIP and VoSIP systems. provide new and upgraded phone and related equipment installations, cable management and labeling of the black and red frames, maintain and update the secure and non-secure switch databases and associated servers (to include vulnerability patching), and operate and maintain the current telephone billing system on the black telephone switch. Provide technical support for secure and non-secure voice, associated supporting equipment, infrastructure, and fax communications lines. Provide installation/de-installation, maintenance, and upgrade of voice switches supporting infrastructure within Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF). Troubleshoot and repair switching equipment and installation of lines in accordance with appropriate security requirements. Install and maintain telephone instruments as requested by the TTM to ensure quality service and efficient equipment operation. Provide installation/de-installation of supporting hardware including telephone instruments, fax machines, replacement boards for the switches and associated infrastructure supporting voice communications.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance IAT II or Security certified

  • At least five years’ experience telecommunications engineering

  • Working knowledge of VoIP Business Model, voice coding, H.323 VoIP Architecture and Addressing, SIP VoIP Architecture, and IP Multimedia Subsystems

  • US citizen

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:(nice to have skills or experience but does not disqualify a candidate)

  • Working knowledge of MS Active Directory

  • Working knowledge of MS Office products

  • Working knowledge of Remedy or MS SCSM

  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library V3 (ITIL) or ITSM operational environments

  • Hands-on experience maintaining Option 61C, Call Pilot, and/or CS1000/81C

  • Experience with Avaya, Nortel, and CISCO equipment is highly desirable

  • Working experience with DoD Civilians, military and contractors
