The Fleet Servicing/ Janitorposition provides a variety of cleaning services and other related dutiesrequired to keep office facilities, or similar areas in a clean and orderlycondition. Full-time, Part-time and Seasonal positions may be available.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Cleans,sweeps, vacuums, mops office facilities and/or customer areas on aircrafts inaccordance with specific cleaning protocols dictated by the airline. This may involve airplane galleys and/orlavatories.
Dusts bothlow and high areas.
Wipes downor cleans various surfaces. Uses appropriate equipment and cleaning solutionsfor all tasks.
Removes andproperly disposes of discarded materials.
Removes andtransports trash to the appropriate disposal areas.
May keepbuilding entryways free of snow and debris.
May operatea vehicle to work at various locations.
Mayperiodically perform a variety of special duties such as certain types oflaundry duties or periodically scheduled cleaning tasks.
Maytransport passengers requiring wheelchair assistance within the terminal andaircraft.
Assistwheelchair passengers with their carry-on bags, assisted devices and checkedluggage.
Working inand around aircrafts and be able to follow cleaning and security protocol thatwill be discussed and properly trained prior to work.
Thisposition has no supervisory responsibilities.
Other dutiesthat are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
Somecombination or education or experience that evidences a working knowledge ofcleaning equipment and general cleaning processes.
Must be ableto pass a background check and physical evaluation.
Must be ableto follow established procedures and must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughnessin day to day activities.
Must lookfor ways to improve and promote quality.
Must applyfeedback to improve performance.
Must meetproductivity standards, complete work in timely manner and strive to increasepersonal productivity.
Must observesafety and security procedures.
Reportpotentially unsafe conditions and use equipment and materials properly.
Must beconsistently at work and on time.
Must be ableto work effectively with a minimum of supervision or support.
Must befluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Valid AlaskaDriver’s License with 3 yrs. clean driving record. Insurable by NMS/ NDCinsurance company. Incumbent must be able to uphold a current State of Alaskadriver’s license.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed to arctic conditions.
Noise level:Moderate to Loud
Description of environment: This is an airport setting.
Theassociate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently pull/pushcart and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, theassociate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, orfeel objects, tools, or controls, talk or hear, pull/push carts, twist. Theassociate is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The associate isoccasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particlesand may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
Specificvision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision,color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
