The Production Control Supervisor will need to compile and records production data for industrial establishments to compare records and reports on volume of production, consumption of material, quality control, and other aspects of production. May perform any combination of the following duties: compile and record production data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed recording procedures and using different word processing techniques. The supervisor calculates such factors as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and worker and department production rates, using a computer, calculator, and/or spreadsheets. Additional tasks include: writing production reports based on data compiled, tabulated and computed, following prescribed formats, maintaining files of documents used and prepared, compiling detailed production sheets or work tickets for use by production workers as guides in assembly or manufacture of products. The supervisor prepares written work schedules based on established guidelines and priorities, compiles material inventory records and prepares requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies charts production using chart, graph, or pegboard based on statistics compiled for reference by production and management personnel. The supervisor also sorts and distributes work tickets or material and may compute wages from employee time cards and post wage data on records used for preparation of payroll. Assists in preparation of monthly, weekly, daily reports (CDRLs) sent to the government.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Controls production through assignment of job orders to appropriate work center (interfaces directly with shop supervisors and leads).

  • Managing and maintaining maintenance warehouse operation, including the flow of parts ordered and receipted, Shop Stock/Bench Stock management of parts and POL products. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of GCSS-A updates and procedures.

  • Performs work flow studies to determine most efficient operational procedures. Provides the Material Maintenance Manager with all required information on backlog and turn-around-time in the maintenance work centers. Reviews parts availability and recommends alternate sources and/or fabrication to expedite repairs.

  • Exercises knowledge of repair processes necessary to accomplish work requested on more than twenty different types equipment. Reviews daily Automated Data Processing (ADP) listing to identify jobs which have been in the maintenance shop for an excessive period and are not in process. Ensures that all required actions that can be taken to repair the equipment have been initiated to remove the item from a non-mission capable status, i.e. all outstanding parts requisitions are valid.

  • Reconciles ADP listings against active job orders to identify jobs which have been closed but are still carried on listing.

  • Reviews ADP listings and provides guidance on overtime, narrative reports on readiness status, and causative research on backlog and special projects. Provides guidance and training to other employees within the Production Control Branch.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:Two year degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:Two to Five years; experience in U.S. Army utilizing the Global Combat Support System (GCSS-A) in a maintenance and supply/warehouse environment, or similar maintenance activity of comparable complexity. A solid background in automated data systems and data system input. Experience as a Supervisor or Leader is preferred.

Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver’s License prior to being hired or 30 days after employment.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check (NAC) to obtain a CAC or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance. Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

Office Automation; Global Combat Support System (GCSS-A) implementation requires access to Ft Carson LAN. GCSSA access will be determined by Manager and the GCSSA system administrator.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Work is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work

may require lifting up to 50 lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and published Company work rules.

Work boots are required in the warehouse.
