Job Summary:

Monitors subcontractor activities and work to ensure quality control, safety and contract compliance for construction projects of routine to moderate complexity.Observes work in progress to ensure the procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications for conformity to standard and approved installation.Interprets blueprints and specifications for subcontractors and discusses deviations from specified procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.Maintain project records which include daily dairies, as built plans, quality records; evaluate and monitor progress schedules, submits Service Orders and Dig Permits.Examines quality of finished installation for conformity to standard and approves installation.

Essential Functions:

1.Ensures that all new construction is completed in accordance with contract documents, permit requirements, approved material list, and approved shop drawings.

2.Conducts pre-construction conference with customer and contractor.

3.Coordinates work schedule between customer and subcontractor.

4.Conveys to subcontractor the importance of quality and safety issues.

5.Coordinates the obtaining of permits and utilities location for subcontractor.

6.Ensures that all construction projects are properly inspected.

7.Prepares Daily Inspection Reports documenting the progress of work along with any photos of the work.

8.Witness required tests and ensures all tests are performed in accordance with contract requirements.

9.Attends project progress meetings, other project-related meetings, and prepares meeting minutes.

10.Performs final inspection, prepares a final Punch List, and ensures all items on the Punch List are completed or corrected by the subcontractor.

Responsible for conforming to all safe work practices and procedures.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Two years of additional experience may be substituted for each year of education.

EXPERIENCE:

Four years in one of these fields involved in facilities design, installation and maintenance. Knowledge of blue print reading, mathematics, and drafting.

SKILLS:

Must have the ability to read interpret and understand contract terms, specifications and drawings. Knowledge and ability in computer applications. Ability to communicate effectively.

Valid State Drivers License is required. Must be eligible to receive a security clearance for access to material up to and including SECRET and/or pass a National Agency Check.
