Description

ASO provides logistics, facilities maintenance and operations, transportation and support services for mission-critical military installations and civilian agencies around the country. From the homes of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command to the highways of suburban Virginia, ASO experts and professionals work behind the scenes to ensure smooth and continuous operations.

Plan, organize, coordinate, and execute all aspects of hazardous and solid waste program management. Develops procedures and plans to maintain conformity with applicable regulations as well as Air Force directives with focus on waste management compliance and minimization. Responds to, investigates, tracks, and offers guidance for material spills as they occur.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of hazardous waste storage facilities, satellite accumulation areas and landfills; coordinate inspections by local Air Force, state or federal regulators

  • Develop/update waste management procedures and plans as required; examples include: Spill Prevention/Control Plan, Haz Waste Management Plan, Haz Waste Reduction Plan, Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan, among others

  • Collect necessary data and complete reports as required by permits and standards

  • Provide oversight response to spills and direction for containment/clean-up and post spill investigation and reporting

  • Support and maintain the storage tank management compliance program

  • Maintain ECAMP (environmental audit) schedule and recordsEnter your job Description.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, or other applicable field

  • 3 years of experience managing hazardous waste programs including disposal, storage, inspection, and documentation

  • Working knowledge of waste management techniques

  • Current HAZWOPER certification
