The Retail Supervisor positionis responsible for supervising employees engaged in serving food with a highlevel of customer service in a hospital cafeteria setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises front line employees toensure a positive customer service experience.

  • Holds all employees accountable.

  • Inspects serving area, dining areas andutensils and equipment to ensure sanitary standards are met.

  • Ensures that all food and physicalsafety standards.

  • Oversees cash controls such as POS(Point of Sale) deposits and daily sales reporting.

  • Assists in product merchandising anddisplays.

  • Actively supports and participates inperformance improvement activities.

  • Assists with customer questions andcomplaints and concerns.

  • Assists coworkers during staffingshortages.

  • This position is responsible for thesupervision of staff.

  • Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit’s success also may be assigned.


Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a High school diploma or GEDequivalent.

  • Must have Municipality of Anchorage FoodHandler’s Card or ServSafe contingent upon 30 days of hire.

  • Must have one (1) year of workexperience with significant supervisory responsibilities.

  • A valid Driver’s License and anacceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible underNMS’ vehicle insurance policy.

  • Contract requires employees to speak,understand, read and write English.

  • Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit’s success also may be assigned.

  • Must pass a fingerprinting backgroundinvestigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Actand the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.

  • Proof of immunization for measles,mumps, rubella (MMR), Varicella (chicken pox), TB, and any other immunizationsand screenings designated in the current ANTHC Employee Health Program forInfection Control in Hospital Personnel.

  • Annual flu vaccination documentation toContractor.

  • Contractor may be required to maintainall employee health records on site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of cafeteria dining or healthcare experience.

  • Cash reconciliation experience.

Description of environment:This is an industrial hospital kitchen located in a healthcare setting.

Frequently required to walk,stand, lift, climb, pull, push, cramped or confined space. Rarely required tosit.

Physical requirements:Frequently required to lift/and or move up to 50 pounds.
