Summary

The successful candidate willplan, administer and design small, medium, and large size projects forindustrial clients, including Red Dog Mine,in conjunction with owner and Kuna’s engineering team.

Responsible for planning anddirecting engineering projects by performing the following duties: managementand oversight of industrial engineering projects, the adequate performance ofwhich requires the specialized knowledge of engineering, dealing with thedesign of civil and horizontal structures, machines, equipment, utilitiessystems, materials, processes, works, or projects; the direction of or theperformance of engineering surveys, consultation, investigation, evaluation,planning; and professional observation of construction of industrialfacilities, works, or projects and engineering review of drawings andspecifications by clients and project stakeholder as directed by the client.

The ideal candidate will be aproactive communicator and able to effectively communicate with on-site projectstaff, corporate headquarters, engineering staff, and other projectstakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsiblefor establishing and maintaining client relationships; ensuring clientsatisfaction and that client objectives are met

  • Responsiblefor overall contract administration, including pricing, estimating, scoping,project budgets, project reporting, invoicing (project & sub-contract).

  • Ensuresclient billings are accurate; monitors outstanding accounts receivable andcollection efforts on all projects

  • Responsiblefor project schedules and timely completion of department projects

  • Reviews,prepares or modifies, and approves reports, specifications, plans, constructionschedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project

  • Servesas a key client contact by attending meetings, teleconferences, and project inspectionsat the request of the client.

  • Reviewsand approves of engineering agreements for his/her projects within thedepartment

  • Assistsclient and engineering team construction cost estimates within the department

  • Directsand supervises other engineers’ activities within department

  • Visitsconstruction sites to monitor progress and other duties as per the contractdocuments

  • Servesas onsite project representative

  • Thisposition is responsible for the supervision of staff.

  • Otherduties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may beassigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BSin engineering discipline desirable; may substitute an equivalent combinationof education and experience

  • PErequired

  • Aminimum of ten (110) years’ experience in A/E or construction industry,including progressive supervisory experience

  • Aminimum of 7 (seven) years experience managing industrial projects, workingwith project owners, decision makers, technical and administrative staff

  • Projectmanagement professional is desirable

  • Demonstrableexperience and working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera, and otherproject management tools used by industrial clients

  • Abilityto define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Abilityto read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professionaljournals, technical procedures, plans and specifications and governmentalregulations

  • Abilityto write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Abilityto effectively present information and respond to questions from groups ofmanagers, clients, customers, and project stakeholder in an industrial settingand context.Project team could belocated at multiple physical locations.

  • Driver’sLicense with a driving record that meets NANA’s insurance requirements.

  • ProjectManagement Professional is desirable- but not required

Weather: Indoors -environmentally controlled; requires most or all work to be done inside.

Noise level: The noise levelin the work environment is usually that of a standard office atmosphere.

Physical requirements:Employee is required to occasionally liftand/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, usehands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl,talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
