Summary

The Food Expeditor positionprovides support to front of house staff and assists in the food tray make-uparea by being responsible for the final check before the customer’s food issent out for delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • High level of communication with cooksand assemblers on the line.

  • Able to work cohesively and respectfullywith others.

  • Ability to keep a fast paced organizedservice line at optimum production.

  • Ability to understand menu and match ticketfood order to ensure completeness.

  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items andtheir status for the day

  • Coordinates food orders to supporttimely and efficient delivery to each table.

  • Responds appropriately to guestrequests, communicating requests to server as needed.

  • Cleans assembly area with appropriatefoods and supplies.

  • Communicate with server/hostess toassure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.

  • Ensure proper food safety and sanitationstandards to ensure customer safety.

  • Neat clean personal presentation andcompliant to the standards as outlined in the employee dress code.

  • Demonstrates the ability to followdirection and work independently.

  • Assist with cleaning and stocking allservice areas.

  • Assists coworkers during staffingshortages.

  • Complete side duties as requiredincluding restaurant set up and take down, trash duty, and miscellaneouscleaning duties and special assignments.

  • This position has no supervisoryresponsibilities.

  • Other duties that are pertinent to thedepartment or unit’s success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a High school diploma or GEDequivalent.

  • Must have or obtain Municipality ofAnchorage Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 daysof hire.

  • Must have at least six (6) months offood service experience.

  • Must have at least six (6 )monthscustomer service experience.

  • Observes extensive grooming, customerservice, and uniform/ dress standards.

  • Contract requires employees to speak,understand, read and write English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to perform each of the essentialduties listed above with a professional degree of competence

  • Proficient in using the followingequipment: cart, refrigerator, freezer, beverage machine, coffee machine, dishmachine.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoors: environmentally controlled; requiresmost or all work to be done inside.

Noise level: Moderate

Description of environment: Thisa fast paced kitchen and dining environment in a restaurant setting.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move upto 35lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handleor feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, andcarry weight/lift.
