NANA Regional Corporation Electrical EIT in Anchorage, Alaska
Responsible for applying design and electrical engineering skills to a variety of diverse and challenging projects in a multi-disciplinary environment. The successful candidate shall have experience in the electrical engineering design consulting business, with demonstrated commercial or industrial design capabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives and involving conventional types of plans and specifications.
Review work for the application of sound professional judgment.
Performs design calculations and prepares equipment or material specifications.
Familiar with the AE design process and specifications leading to construction documents.
Prepare graphical representations of designs
Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables and supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems.
May supervise or coordinate the work of designers and other technical support personnel.
Experience in the design of commercial, industrial, educational, and governmental buildings, small industrial plants and warehouses, central chilled water and heating plants.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Other duties may be assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
Minimum three (3) years electrical engineering experience required.
Engineer in Training certification required.
Minimum one (1) year experience with AutoCAD required. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Revit preferred.
Advanced skillset with Microsoft Word, Excel, Building Information Management (BIM) required.
Experience preparing graphical representations of designs.
Experience in lighting, power, signal, communication, controls and fire detection systems.
Experience in performing design calculations and preparing equipment or material specifications.
Experience with all phases of project management and production.
Experience in budgeting, scheduling, planning, design specification and working drawings.
Working knowledge of applicable electrical and design codes.
Experience in commercial, state and federal facility design preferred.
A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.
Ability to perform design calculations using commercially available software.

Ability to prepare letters, reports, and specifications.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and financial functions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Weather: Indoors/Outdoors – occasional exposure to moderate to harsh weather conditions. Requires work to be done both inside and outside.
Noise level: The noise level in the work environment is usually mild to moderate.May occasionally be on a construction site setting with moving equipment and vehicles.
Description of environment: Office building with standard office environment.Occasionally required to be on location at construction/project sites.
Physical requirements:Employee is required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift.
Travel: Travel required up to 50 percent of the time. Employee will travel to remote areas and may be required to use alternative modes of transportation, including but not limited to snow machines, boats, small airplanes and ATVs.
