Summary

TheSecurity Officer assigned to the BlueCrest Energy – Hansen Production Facility servesas an allied team member with Security and HSE personnel and provides security,safety, and emergency response services for a variety of large and smallbusiness clients where health, safety and security is our #1 priority. TheSecurity Officer will be responsible to provide excellent customer service forroutine security related duties as well as serving as a first responder to amyriad of industrial emergencies at the BlueCrest Energy – Hansen ProductionFacility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Personally monitors either visually, electronically or audibly a variety of assigned areas, or grounds by working in a variety of assignments including but not limited to roving inside the facilities, roving in a vehicle, other locations deemed appropriate.

  • Ensures own actions and those of others observe maximum level of safety and compliance.

  • Will verbally de-escalate situations to ensure the safety of fellow employees, contractors, customers and clients.

  • Examines doors, windows, and other areas of the facility to determine they are secure.

  • Reports and records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, etc.in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Warns violators of rule infractions and may apprehend or expel violators.

  • Schedules, manages and makes assignments for workforce billeting and associated tasks.

  • Responds to a variety of emergencies or disasters in order to preserve life and property, including but not limited to fire safety, active shooter protocol, emergency medical situations, and other Health, Safety and Environmental emergencies.

  • May issue and record ID badges.

  • Maintains a strong familiarity with the Alaska Safety Handbook, The BlueCrest Energy HSE Field Handbook, and applicable OSHA regulations and guidelines relative to the Alaska petroleum industry.

  • Maintains a strong working knowledge of the BlueCrest Energy Security Response Plan and the associated security post orders.

  • May check heating, lighting, sprinkling, security, ventilation, fire, etc., systems to make sure they are operational.

  • Communicates well with theSecurity Supervisor and other security and HSE team members relating to safetyand security operations, events, and emergencies.

  • Performsother duties as assigned that are pertinent to the department or unit’ssuccess.

  • Thisposition may require supervision of security augmentation teams when assignedto the BlueCrest Energy - Hansen Production Facility as directed by theSecurity Supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • As per contract requirements, must be minimum 21 years of age.

  • Must have at least five (5) years of civilian law enforcement or military law enforcement experience.

  • A valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy.

  • Must pass a criminal background check with no felony convictions, no misdemeanor convictions involving domestic violence, or any crimes that would be defined as a “barrier crime” as defined in Alaska Administrative Code 7 AAC 10.905 within the jurisdiction of the State of Alaska or similar crimes in another jurisdiction.

  • Must not be subject to any domestic violence or stalking protective orders in Alaska or another jurisdiction.

  • Must possess a State of Alaska Emergency Trauma Technician (ETT) or higher level EMS certificate, or be able to obtain an ETT certification within 6 months of hire.

  • Within 30 days of hire, must be able to obtain and maintain NMS Advanced Certification in the operation of firearms to include, rifles, pistols, and shotguns.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain and pay the Alaska Armed Guard License fee of $97.00 prior to beginning work.

  • Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.

  • Must be able to work a 2 week on / 2 week off rotation.

  • Must be able to be on your feet for 12 hours per shift for the scheduled rotation.

  • Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

  • Must have a demonstrated ability to apply good discretion and take reasonable action in the management of conflicts or in emergency, crisis or disaster situations.

  • Must be have a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather:Indoor/Outdoor. Frequently exposed toextreme inclement weather conditions.

Noiselevel: Moderate to Loud

Descriptionof environment: This is petroleum exploration and production facility.

Mustconstantly be able to stand, sit, walk, climb, push, pull use hands and arms, stoop,kneel and crouch.

Physicalrequirements:

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to lift, carry, and balance an adult patient with the assistance of others.

  • Ability to run, walk, bend, and crawl on uneven terrain.

  • Ability to perform essential duties while wearing a respirator and/or other personal protective equipment (PPE) including body substance isolation.

  • Ability to perform essential duties while working in low light or confined spaces.

  • Ability to carry and use a firearm and maintain a high level of firearm proficiency.

  • Ability to withstand varied environmental conditions such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture.

  • Ability to communicate clearly during crisis or stressful situations, to include verbally and non-verbally, with the use of radio communications equipment, cellular phones, and other means of communications.

  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle (including ATVs).
