Job Summary Focuses on the operational application of systems engineering, performing functions such as developing, maintaining, and utilizing commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) tools to conduct requirement and risk management, verification and validation, and logistics and deployment activities as well as ensuring appropriate documentation is created and maintained over the full product lifecycle. Supports the tracking of system development, ensuring that all technical areas are moving according to a predetermined schedule and in an integrated development process. Works issues personally or flags areas where additional technical expertise or program leadership is needed. Typically verifies requirements that don't require deep engineering multidisciplinary knowledge, such as dimensions, mass properties, or input and output signal voltage and timing. Ensures that all requirements are addressed, verifies that the system design satisfies all requirements, and collects evidentiary packages to document completion for the customer.
Job Specifications Employs a structured engineering approach that models the interactions between all components and ensures integration. Documents and tracks component and system-level performance requirements and develops acceptance criteria for the subsystems and system. Documents and tracks project risks and interfaces with stakeholders to develop mitigation and contingency plans. Evaluates competing characteristics between system elements and determines the most effective, integrated system solution. Evaluates, tests, and performs high-level analysis of system functionality and subsystem contribution to system function, ensuring that system performance requirements and acceptance criteria are met. Interfaces with the customer and those responsible for developing, testing, and implementing the system and its elements to ensure that customer expectations are met. Develops logistic and deployment plans and prepares required training resources.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
-Support ES&H performance assurance which includes but is not limited to assessments, measures/metrics, occurrence management, issues management, and trending analysis.
-Employ a structured engineering approach that models the interactions between all components and ensures integration.
-Document and track component and system-level performance requirements and develops acceptance criteria.
-Document and track project risks and interfaces with stakeholders to develop mitigation and contingency plans.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability Knowledge of systems engineering development tools, techniques, and management. Ability to partner with customers and technically direct the efforts of a cross-disciplinary team. Ability to review and understand end to-end work processes. Ability to work closely with customers and suppliers to define expectations and mutual responsibilities. Good understanding of the customers, the concept of operations for the system, and the mission capabilities and characteristics of the system.
Minimum Qualifications (Required) Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM discipline.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired) -Strong written and oral communication skills.
-Experience with data analysis.
-Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
-Experience in conducting assessments, developing and monitoring measures/metrics, and/or performing analysis to identify trends.
