Job Summary Provides assistance and support for a full range of human resources activities across multiple organizations. With minimal supervision, completes a wide variety of administrative and special assignments at the para-professional level for one or more human resources functions, including recruitment, records and reporting, employment and staffing, immigration and visas, compensation, employee relations, or training and employee development.
Job Specifications Provides administrative support to human resources in the areas of compensation, medical, benefits, staffing, employment, employee and labor relations, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA),organizational development and training, and human resources records. Specific duties may include processing forms to document human resources activities; researching, compiling, and proofing human resources-related administrative-type assignments and reports; and providing general customer service, including answering questions regarding established human resources policies and procedures.
This position has a strong focus on Family MedicalCare Act and the designation of and tracking of this type of time away from work as well as other time away from work benefits.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability Knowledge of human resources-related laws, regulations, and practices in one or more discipline, including employee benefits, compensation, Equal Employment Opportunity and diversity, employee relations, leadership development, Sandia's Human Resources Information System, organizational development, recruitment, staffing, or training. Knowledge of record retention requirements. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions or judgments on sensitive, confidential issues; to recognize importance of conflicting priorities; and to act accordingly. Strong interpersonal, communications, and customer service skills; the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people; and highly developed and effective teamwork skills. Ability to perform independent research; to investigate, analyze and assess information; to draw appropriate conclusions; and develop appropriate solutions. Proficiency in common office software and the ability to prepare and present reports. Knowledge of Sandia's overall organizational structure, mission, and goals.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
Knowledge of human resources-related practices in one or more of the following disciplines: employee benefits, medical, compensation, EEO, diversity, employee relations, leadership development, HRIS, organizational development, staffing, training, or records.
Knowledge of governmental regulations related to human resources policies and procedures, specifically FMLA.
Experience providing administrative services and activities, includingexperience usinga variety of
Sandia NationalLaboratories and humanresources business computer systems.
Experience conducting research and investigating alternative solutions to administrative support ACtivities
Knowledge of records management and retention schedules.
Skillin the preparation and presentation of human resources-related reports.
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication,and teamwork skills.
Ability to work with highly confidential and personal information.
Knowledge of Sandia's overall organizational structure, mission and goals.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired) 2-3 years of FMLA administration
