Description

Summary

Provides professional laptop and desktop support as well as customer service to military and civilian customers. Work involves troubleshooting hardware problems and repairing or referring to another repair facility as appropriate. Installs, troubleshoots, configures and repairs software issues for Windows operating systems (OS) and Microsoft Office 2007. Troubleshoots and resolves network connectivity issues at the desktop level. Joins personal computers (PCs) to local domains as required. Configures local PC connections to network printers. Performs custom transmission control protocol internet protocol (TCP/IP) configurations of desktops as required. Troubleshoots Microsoft Exchange Server connectivity issues. Installs and troubleshoots other software and peripheral devices as required by the customer. Performs other Service Desk functions as required.

REQUIRED JOB ACTIVITIES:

1. Installs, configures, and maintains DOD-approved communications software on government computers and configures the network to allow proper user access.

2. Installs and configures network printers.

3. Responsible for both classified and unclassified computer system stability through the use of DoD-approved, Government-furnished operating systems and software.

4. Joins client computers to Microsoft Active Directory domains.

5. Configures Microsoft Outlook and manages personal folders in all versions of Outlook.

6. Installs, configures, and maintains security software on military computer systems.

7. Repairs and maintains desktop and laptop hardware.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Requires six (6) years of experience relating to automation equipment repair.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills are mandatory.

  • Must have an active Secret clearance, US citizenship is required.

Certifications

This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD 8570.01-M.

All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. The authorized certifications for this job title are listed as follows:

IAT Level:

  • IAT I Baseline: A ce, CASP, CCNA Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GSEC, GCED, GCIH, Network ce, Security ce, SSCP CE: MCP, MTA, MCTS, MCSA System Administrator: Windows Server 2003, MCITP Support

  • Technician: Windows 7, MCITP Server Administrator: Windows Server 2008, MCITP Enterprise Administrator: Windows Server 2008, MCITP Virtualization Administrator Windows Server 2008 R2, MCSA Windows Server 2008, MCSA Windows Server 2012, MCSE Server Administrator: Windows Server 2003, MCSE Desktop Infrastructure 2012, MCSE Server Infrastructure 2012, MCSE Private Cloud 2012, Server , VCP 4, VCP 5
