JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Field Engine will provide on-site leadership and technical guidance in support of individual tasks or small project as directed by the Program or Project Manager.This position requires the ability to supervise several technicians while performing a specific task or project.The candidate shall be capable of working independently and shall be responsible for the task or project in its entirety; this includes but is not limited to following and adhering to given technical documentation, applicable industry and/or Government standards, quality of service, deliverables and final acceptance of work.

  • Advanced system level troubleshooting including but not limited to RF receivers, transmitters, transceivers, as well as networks.

  • Design, install, upgrade, and test maritime and shore site systems.

  • Assists the PM in the estimating, planning and execution of tasking within established budgets.

  • Independently plans and accomplishes complete projects or studies of broad scope and complexity.

  • Serves as an expert in particular field of engineering.

  • Interprets technical drawings or publications in order to execute a specific task.

  • Requires considerable creativity and judgment to devise approaches to accomplish work, resolve design and operational problems.

  • Makes decisions in situations where standard engineering methods and procedures may not be applicable.

  • Prepares designs and specifications for complex equipment or systems.

  • Conceives and recommends new compatibility of design with other parts of the system.

  • Prepares and coordinates test set up procedures.

  • Responsible for conducting internal quality control processes to verify conformance to operational and performance criteria

  • Travel to job sites as required by the PM and IAW the Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR).

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

o Experience that specializing in telecommunications, RF, and network installations, upgrades, or field changes.

o Tower Climbing Safety & Rescue Basic Course Certification

o Advanced communication skills interacting with government representatives as well as industry partners.

o Advanced technical writing skills to include the development of project plans, test procedures and other technical documents.

o Ability to Obtain a secret clearance

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

General office environment, Tower climbing. Some lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds required.
