The System Administrator (intermediate level) reports to a Team Lead and Technical Manager and identifies researches and resolves technical problems escalated from Tier 1 support (Service Desk and field support engineers). Responsible for end-user applications, workstation, server, mobile device and network support. This position relies on defined processes and troubleshooting skills to perform the functions of the job while working independently or under immediate supervision.
Support field support engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware and software for workstations and servers as well as network printers and other peripherals.
Troubleshoot laptop and mobile phone issues for users.
Write and update technical and procedural documentation related to the installation and maintenance of workstations, laptops and mobile devices.
Assist field support engineers with server backup and restore operations.
Collaborate with other IT departments to ensure best practices and standards are beingfollowed and the platform technology is being leveraged.
3 years of working experience with desktop and server hardware and software.
Experience working with a Microsoft-networked computer environment including Active Directory administration.
Experience with HP and Dell servers with Microsoft Server OS.
Experience working with VDI, understanding of Xendesktop and Citrix.
Experience with smartphones to include Android and iOS.
Strong troubleshooting skills are vital.
Must have a Secret Clearance
Experience with backup software including Backup Exec and CommVault
Ability to respond to technical issues in a timely fashion with an emphasis on customer service.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
