Summary

Provide, as part of a team, Information Assurance-oriented guidance, advice and support to the NOAA National Weather Service (NWS) Information Assurance Branch and its customers/domain of control within the NWS.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: B.A. or B.S. degree or 4 years of equivalent experience in a related field.

  • 6 years’ experience in IT support and/or Information Assurance support.

  • Experience supporting Government security programs.

  • Experience using NIST-based security processes and guidance, including the Risk Management Framework and Continuous Monitoring.

  • Experience in Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) activities.

  • Understanding of Information Assurance requirements and compliance reporting.

  • Experience in using Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) in IT support delivery.

  • Experience with security testing.

  • Experience with vulnerability management.

  • Experience providing IT security-oriented analysis.

  • Professional technical writing capabilities and oral communications skills.

  • Ability to gain and hold required Dept. of Commerce, NOAA and NWS clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.

Desired:

  • Security , CAP, CISSP, etc. certification

  • Experience working in the NOAA/NWS environment.
