Civil Engineer 1
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will plan, administer and design small to medium size transportation or site civil projects
Perform roadway and/or traffic design tasks as a member of design team for local, arterial and interstate roadways
Manage design staff as lead engineer on project tasks
Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction; ensure client objectives are met
Responsible for marketing, writing proposals, winning work, maintaining and developing key client relationships
Participate in client-rich professional organizations and functions
Train and mentor young professionals
WA PE required; licenses in other states a plus
4 years engineering experience with a background in transportation and/or site civil design, including a combination of roadway, traffic, storm water, irrigation design and utility relocations.
A minimum of 1 year experience managing tasks, small projects and professional staff.
Solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions / constraints.
Must possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
Demonstrated skills developing relationships with municipal, county and state agencies in support of transportation and/or site civil projects
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrology modeling and MS software applications (including MS Project); Microstation and Inroads a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management
Adaptability and ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure
Candidate must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License; must be able to meet company insurability requirements.
Must be willing to travel up to 25%
