PRIMARY FUNCTION

The project manager is responsible for general direction and oversight of a high visibility project at FDA. The project manager should plan, oversee and documents all technical aspects of the project. The project manager will work closely with the program manger to ensure that that all aspects of the project scope are covered and the project schedule is maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in internal kickoff meetings to discuss contractual project details with the client and to ensure that the team has a full understanding of the expected deliverables

  • Assist in the definition of the project scope and its deliverables, and technical feasibility.

  • Manager relationship with the client and stakeholders

  • Maintain agreed on project schedule and ensure that all deliverables are completed on time

  • Maintain project progress reports

  • Perform risk management and minimize project risks

  • Report and escalate to program manager as needed

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

  • Ensure resource availability and allocation

  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress

  • Manage day-to-day administrative performance of projects or a definable portion of a larger program in accordance with contract requirements.

  • Fully understand all aspects of projects within the portfolio to effectively communicate status of the project to the program manager

  • Must be able to multi task, remain flexible, and be willing to grow with our business. The ideal candidate will be experienced handling multiple large scale projects and take on other duties as assigned.

  • As business focus evolves the ideal candidate will be able to support operational challenges and changing processes and procedures.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

  • ProjectManagement Professional (PMP)

  • BS/BA degree. 4 years’ experience may substitute for adegree

  • 4 years’experience plus relevant experience with degree, or 8 years’ without a degree(see above bullet)

  • Experienceworking with FDA is preferred by but required

  • Requiresdemonstrated experience in managing, directing, planning, implementing, andstaffing projects or sites.

  • Experiencewith software development projects and working on large scale enterpriseproduction environments

  • Experiencedwith Agile software development environment

  • Excellentmanagement skills with the ability to assign and monitor work.

  • Requiresexcellent communication skills; oral, written, and analytical

  • Excellentwriting, editing, communication and interpersonal skills required.

  • Excellenttime management, decision making, presentation, human relations, andorganization skills

  • Must be atleast a Green Card holder and be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust levelclearance
