Remote Security Lieutenant

The Remote SecurityLieutenant position provides oversight and support for security operations onthe North Slope. The successful applicant will develop and maintain adeep understanding of the business demands and have the ability to documentcomplex business processes while tracking/managing numerous business andstaffing needs. This role will translate business needs into functionalrequirements and prepare the appropriate documentation to communicate andvalidate those needs.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
Assigns personnel to various posts or patrols. Interprets security rules and procedures.
Supervises operation procedures and activities for a client’s security services.
Prepares work schedule and reviews Leave requests for approval/denial
Completes transportation requests and lodging arrangements for the security force using Ilogistics database
Continually communicates with clients to assist them as required with security matters and improve services.
Continually communicates with all levels of staff to review operating procedures, budget matters, etc. so as to be able to improve assigned operations.
Receives and appropriately resolves irregularity reports.
Administrates a variety of business related paperwork.
Performs a variety of security related investigations.
Review recorded data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, incident reports, etc. to determine appropriate courses of action.
Confers with various agencies to gain their cooperation and coordination.
May perform all of the duties of assigned staff for short periods of time.
Manages subordinate security personnel.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Coordinate Post orders, updates and revisions.
On-call during off hours.
May assume role of Incident Command, depending on nature of incident.
Other related duties may also be assigned.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Two (2) years post-secondary education.
Candidates without such education need an additional two (2) years of related security or law enforcement experience.
At least five (5) years of directly related responsible security experience and/or law enforcement experience which includes significant supervisory responsibilities.
A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy.
A Class B, Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement and air brake endorsement and a driving record acceptable to the company's insurance carrier.
Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
A valid State of Alaska Armed Security Guard license.
Must be in good physical condition physically capable of standing and walking for a 12 hour period.
Must have good written, oral communications and human relations skills.
Must have effective training skills and ability to produce specific training for each Security position designated in the contract, and to produce general security training on a quarterly basis.
Must have excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
Must have a strong working knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS).
Must have strong communication skills. The manger will participate in small group and large group meetings, provide on-site security orientation for contract workers.
Must have a positive and supportive attitude toward client’s security needs and initiatives.
Must have a telephone and reliable transportation.
Must be able to work a rotational schedule.
The employee isregularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is occasionallyrequired to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employeemust occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilitiesrequired by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee is occasionally exposedto outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment isusually moderate.
The employee must be ableto pass the Fit For Duty test:
Lift : Lift 20 lbs. from floor toknuckle x 2,
Lift : Lift 20 lbs. from floor towaist x 2, Carry: Carry 20 lbs. with two hands for a minimum distanceof 20 feet, self-paced but continuous,
Kneel : Kneel on one knee and stand.Return to kneel on opposite knee. Repeat alternate kneeling sequence x 3 foreach knee, self-paced but continuous,
From Supine Position Test : Froma supine, recumbent position, while wearing arctic gear, test recipient must beable to stand without assistance x 3, self-paced (this task must beaccomplished safely without significant loss of balance or falling. Allow onere-test when there is a loss of balance considered unsafe or a fall.)
Stoop & Twist: Performalternate cross over toe touches x 5 each side, self-paced but continuous,
Walk : Walk on a treadmill at 3 MPHfor 10 minutes with good balance,
Stairs: Climb up and down 10 steps x 2for a total of 20 steps, self-paced.
