Akima, LLC is looking for an outstanding Facilities Director who willlead our facilities management services supporting Akima’s 45 operatingcompanies with locations across the United States. The position will be located at our Herndon,Virginia corporate headquarters.

Essential Duties

  • Manage the planning, design, implementation and maintenanceof facilities management to increase overall effectiveness of facilitiesutilization in multiple company locations across the United States.

  • Manage the opening, closing and consolidation of worklocations, negotiating leases and complex deals, constructing new offices andimplementing designs, workplace guidelines and efficiencies.

  • Manage major departmental or location level relocations.

  • Develop site analysis, make recommendations for real estate strategy based on company growth and future facility needs.

  • Review lease agreements and makes recommendations toleadership based on business objectives. Identify and implement strategies/best practices to reduce costs andimprove service.

  • Present data and analysis on departmentprojects, future consolidation strategies and cost reduction opportunities.

  • Manage relationships with building ownership and property management across the Company, to ensure compliance with lease terms.

  • Negotiate and manage direct vendor/partner contracts (i.e. furniture, copiers/printer, vending services).

  • Manage capital and expense budgets for the company’s realestate portfolio and the facilities department.

  • Manage a centralized corporate facilities database,strengthening accounting controls and data integrity.

  • Develop annual and long range plans and budgets and monitor performancerelative to established plans and budgets.

  • Oversee capital projects and manage budget and schedule expectations with leadership.

  • Provide facilities support to business development pursuits to include RFP assessment as required.

  • Implement physical securityinitiatives in work locations.Direct office evacuation, emergency response and disasterrecovery planning. Responsible for all facility related communications toinclude building emergencies and closures.

  • Manage Continuity of Operations plans for all majorfacilities.

  • Direct the coordination of building space allocation andlayout, communication services, and facility expansion.

  • Direct the integration of facility office equipment forcurrent and future programs.

  • Oversee the management of facilities resources and staff,including meeting spaces, records retention, warehousing, mail distribution, accesscontrol, and similar office management responsibilities.

  • Responsible for employment, training, motivation, andperformance evaluations of assigned employees.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS degree

  • 10 years ofrelated experience

  • Demonstrated supervisory/managementexperience

  • Excellent writtenand oral communication skills

  • Strongorganizational and problem-solving skills; ability to work with complex,time-dependent issues and manage a multitude of projects simultaneously

  • Proficient indeveloping and maintaining a budget, and making forecasts for future costs andtimelines.

  • Customer Serviceoriented and ability to maintain strong relationships with all levels bothwithin and outside of the company.

  • Must be willing totravel to company and contract locations as required. Travel commitment will beapproximately 20% per annum.

  • Must be a USCitizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Desired:

  • Understanding offederal contracting and NISPOM a plus.
