General Clerk II (IPBO)
ASO provides logistics, facilities maintenance and operations, transportation and support services for mission-critical military installations and civilian agencies around the country. This position uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps that vary in nature and sequence. The General Clerk II selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures. Typical duties include: assisting in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored both manually and electronically); verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information and handling and adjusting complaints.
The General Clerk II may also direct lower level clerks. Positions above level IV are excluded. Such positions (which may include supervisory responsibility over lower level clerks) require workers to use a thorough knowledge of an office’s work and routine to: 1) choose among widely varying methods and procedures to process complex transactions; and 2) select or devise steps necessary to complete assignments. Typical jobs covered by this exclusion include administrative assistants, clerical supervisors, and office managers.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Responsible for office operations. Provide customer service. Assist employees with minor administrative problems. Responsible for assisting the supervisor in scheduling required training and maintaining training records. Ensure all office supplies are requested and tracked.
Assist Supply Technicians with cataloging through AESIP and processing requisitions of all supply class through GCSS-A.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Computer equipment, various software programs to include Microsoft Windows, FedLog, Adobe Acrobat and PDF’s, Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Use of office equipment such as photocopier,printer, scanner, fax, and shredder.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
Work is generally conducted in an office environment. Work will require lifting up to 25 lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and walking through warehouse. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published Company work rules.
FREEDOM TO ACT: Reports to the Supervisor and functions somewhat independently with his/her direction and review.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Knowledge of automated data systems and automated data system input required. Requires a thorough knowledge of an office's work and routine. Must be able to choose among widely varying methods and procedures to process complex transactions; select or devise steps necessary to complete assignments.
Experience: Two years administrative experience with some knowledge of military operations and schedules. Work experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office and FEDLOG. Must have good oral and written communication skills as well as possess a working knowledge of other office tools/programs. DESIRED: Experience with GCSS-A, property management, supply procurement, and GPC regulations.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance or NAC. Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.
