SUMMARY:

Thisposition believes in partnering with regional entities to better serve andprovide development opportunities to residents and shareholders in the NANAregion. This position is a critical link to increasing access to avariety of services and development opportunities. This position also carriesout those programs and activities that advance the placement and careerdevelopment of NANA shareholders. Their work is to improve the quality oflife for shareholders by promoting healthy communities with decisions, actionsand behaviors inspired by our Inupiat Illitqusiat values consistent with ourcore principals.

ESSENTIALDUTIES:

ServiceDelivery

  • Workingclosely within Regional Partnerships, assist shareholders in gaining access toservices

  • Worksclosely with shareholders in preparing and counseling them to access education.

  • Worksclosely with shareholders in preparing and counseling them to become qualifiedfor employment anywhere that best suits their employment and career needs.

  • HelpShareholders develop a career path.

  • Be alocal contact person for Regional Partnerships in coordination and organizationof local activities and meetings and visitors.

  • Provideadministrative support and encourage elder participation in the local elders’council.

DevelopmentalWork

  • Workwith small groups to promote personal, family and community wellbeing.

  • Promote,preserve and share local Inupiaq knowledge, custom and wisdom for a healthyfuture.

  • Workswith local elder council’s goals and ideas.

  • EncourageYouth outreach in schools

  • Buildfrom shareholder ideas and their resources to become skilled for employment.

  • Promoteparticipatory shareholder development activities in small groups in a positivemanner.

Administration

  • Maintainaccess to resources and services available to the community such as schoolsscholarships and services available for shareholders.

  • Trackinput to database and report on actions taken in support of shareholderdevelopment and service delivery to Director.

  • Updatesrecords and/or databases.

  • Monitorand evaluate performance, projects and programs so they achieve their assignedgoals in a timely manner.

  • Maintainsan open and inviting office available to community, by managing individual siteneeds, supplies and control over routine maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • HighSchool Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Atleast 3 year’s relevant work experience to include administrative, recruitmentand/or workforce development. Equivalent education, training, or similarexperience may be substituted for relevant experience.

  • Intermediatecomputer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Provenability to compile data and information in to reports and presentations.

  • Mustbe comfortable public speaking and presenting to a group.

  • Musthave current UA collections certification or the ability to certify within 3months of hire.

  • Experienceworking with youth and/or adults one on one or in group settings.

  • Experiencewith applicant tracking systems preferred.

  • CurrentAlaska Driver’s licenses with a clean 3 year driving record preferred.

The position requires reading, detailed work, problem solving,interactions with other companies including other NANA companies, reasoning,math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analyticalreasoning, will require the employee in the position to manage multipleconcurrent tasks, and handle constant interruptions.

ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. Theemployee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee mustoccasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may be exposed tooutside harsh weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment isusually quiet. Must be able to extensively travel and work in non-urban areasusing many different means of transportation. Incumbent must be able to work inless than ideal offices, facilities, or situations.
