Job Summary Performs a variety of duties in support of technical activities in such areas of instrumentation, mechanics, computer applications, testing, or engineering data collection. Works on a specific task basis to support technical activities.
Job Specifications Department 5198 is seeking a General Technologist with knowledge and experience with design, installation, configuration, and operation of physical and technical security systems. The successful candidate will plan, install, test, repair, and remove access control and intrusion detection devices and systems in Sandia security buildings.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability Skill in related technologies, such as mechanics, electronics, or computers. Ability to work independently and as well as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications (Required) Knowledge and experience with installation, maintenance. and troubleshooting of alarm and access control sensors and power supplies: experience with security systems applications interface: work cooperatively and proactively in a team environment: be self-motivated and customer oriented: effectively prioritize and complete multiple complex tasks: experience with security systems configuration management: available to respond to emergency calls during non-operational hours and work deviated schedules when necessary: excellent communication skills; ability to receive and maintain SCI clearance and pass polygraph examination.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired) Experience with trouble ticket and resolution operating environments: experience with project management principles and reporting; experience with specialized key production: knowledge of security lock installation, repair, and maintenance; experience with GE Diamond II and/or Lenel OnGuard: ability to travel for training and work when required.
